@ryanstewart iirc the idea of the editor being focused is not correct -- the focus could be in the quick open text box or some other input widget while there is a concurrent targeted editor which is active. It's really just semantics since that's what the AlPI is currently doing -- this effort is renaming the API with a deprecation warning; although we may want to change the API to actually check for ficus rather than deprecate it.

Actually after reviewing the notes in the thread it looks like the problem was a behavior change in CEF that caused tests to fail if the window doesn't have focus so the fix is to use the active editor rather than the focused editor across the board
