Description
I bought my Asus ROG G531GT back in 2019 for both gaming and coding. Also it was my first year/semester of college. ONLY I KNOW THE PAIN of my new laptop crashing every single time due to thermal throttling for literally no reason in class. And while gaming, let's say from 2019 to till date I never was able to game on it. THE PAIN...
Asus straight up told me to replace the motherboard of my new laptop which I had to pay for...
I tried everything
- clean windows installation
- trial/error between asus/intel/nvidia drivers
- trying linux
- replacing my thermal paste for nth time
- and what not...
I always had a hunch by seeing the cpu/gpu usage that it wasn't normal and I was 100% sure it was a firmware issue but I could never figure out the actual reason until now.
I am so glad that it wasn't just me.. because I used to blame my luck.
Because of it 2 weeks ago I bought another 2025 ROG G16 with RTX 5070ti... AND GUESS WHAT ?
- Unboxed at the store
- Crashed on startup
- Ideal temps were 65-70 C
- I told them this is not normal and they didn't gave me another laptop
- literally just after unboxing at the Asus Store, I was told to go visit service center.
Multi million dollar company and can't afford to put a genuine engineer for the most important/dedicated piece of their software. Till date my laptop is not working as It was supposed to years ago.
