When I saw the LEGO Voltron for sale, I just _had_ to get it. Voltron was one of the big toys of my
childhood, but I have a special connection with it. You see, one year for Christmas or my birthday,
I was... well, let's just say _less than obedient_ and was snooping around looking for my presents.
I ended up finding one under my mom's bed, and I _really_ wanted to peek at it... so I took it into
the back yard and opened it. You know, just a little tiny peek. But of _course_ that little tiny
peek ended up becoming obvious after the fact and I don't remember what kind of trouble I got into.

Any rate, the present was the black lion from Voltron. So yeah, special history there.

Now, back to today. The LEGO rendition of this is actually quite good; you can build them as lions
or as the robot and, while the mobility of each is not fantastic, the fact that it's doable at all
is very impressive.

_Looks great just like this, right?_

The end result is quite tall and is surprisingly stable (update from 2025: it hasn't fallen over once).
It's a bit of a slog to transform everything, but really it's a kick right in the nostalgia and I
love it!

_Defender of the universe_

Now, I seem to recall there was a second, less popular Voltron made up of like a dozen vehicles; I
wonder if that is actually a thing which existed, if it's called Voltron, what's going on with that...
and if they'll do a LEGO of it!
