[Mod Support]: Distant Horizons, recent API update, integration with Framed blocks maybe now viable?

Describe the feature

I've just had a short conversation with the DH people on discord (https://discord.com/channels/881614130614767666/1494536854589018223), and they seem to be saying they just added a new API feature that allows other mods to determine what colors their blocks show as in DH rendering.
I'm not a programmer, so I'm not sure how it works (or if I understood correctly), or if can do what all us DH & FB fans want and render block FB block colors accurately in DH, but I thought you might like to know.

The important parts:
"I did just add an API event that would allow developers to programically change block colors when DH is creating it's render data"
"DH API is available for other mods to use so that they can add DH compat on their side"

The event they added does make it more feasible for FramedBlocks to support it but the API is overall still insufficient and in some cases poorly designed. The primary issues I'm currently running into and will need to discuss with the DH dev are the following:

• There is currently no way for another mod to ask DH what the color of a block would be without invoking the color adjustment event they added (would require me to entirely re-implement what they already do to compute the LOD colors)
• Accessing the needed data is very susceptible to crashing due to poor API design in DH
• DH randomly does not react to camo changes on framed blocks, causing them to render blank (i.e. brown)
