[Feature]: Framed Sculk, Resin, Glow Lichen, or similar

Describe the feature

If it's even possible, it woud be awesome to have a framed block that partially covers the face of another block, similar to sculk or resin (or to a lesser extend, glow lichen). This would allow for some cool color blending and shading effects.

A block like resin, glow lichen, sculk, vines or fallen leaves is definitely possible, though the preferred shape of such a block seems very subjective to me, making it pretty hard to create a universally useful block. I'd be interested in your opinion on that.

I speak only for myself, but a pattern that's a bit more noisy or less "coherent" would maybe serve a wider variety of use-cases. My thinking is a pattern like that would probably be closer to a visual blending of the two blocks, whereas if it's a more noticeable or "chunkier" pattern it's going depend heavily on the vibe of the build.

I mean it'd be super cool to have all the patterns! But if I had to choose just one, I'd go with something that aims at just blending the two blocks together rather than a noticeable pattern. I imagine glow lichen might accomplish this, whereas sculk or resin wouldn't. But I also think having any one of them as an option would be super cool!

I'm not sure how to describe what I mean in another way :( Wishing right now I knew anything about art and could explain it more coherently!

I'm primarily wondering whether you just mean a mix of the patterns of sculk and resin or whether you mean to blend the textures of the camo applied to the proposed cover block and whatever is placed behind it.

Oh I was thinking more of the former, a pattern like glow lichen/vines/leaves/etc), which would give the illusion of blending the framed camo and the block behind it. The latter sounds more complicated to implement.

Haha I'm no artist either, building in minecraft is as close as I get. Is it possible to just use one of the textures from vanilla MC? Not sure if that's allowed by mojang. Or maybe use a texture from an open source mod with sufficiently permissible license?

Accessing vanilla textures in the mod's code is perfectly fine, copying and modifying vanilla textures is a grey area.
Neither of that applies here though, the visual appearance you see in-game (except for a few items) is dynamically generated in code and does not rely on a texture specific to a particular framed block.
