There is an &rarr character before the "Continue reading" message on the news page. This right arrow shows up for me on Windows and Mac, but not Linux. It looks bad when the arrow doesn't render because there is a dangling underline to the left of "Continue".
The arrow does show up when I build using the Qt Debian packages, instead of building Qt myself. In that case, also the warnings from #11 are not printed. So I guess the Debian packages have Qt configured to find some system fonts.
