[BUG] Laggy keyboard input

Describe the bug
Entering a tweet is laggy

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Press button to compose
2. Bring up the onscreen keyboard
3. Enjoy laggy typing

Expected behavior
Responsive typing

Smartphone (please complete the following information):

• Device: Galaxy S10E
• OS: Android 12
• Variant: Fdroid
• Version: 1.7.0-beta02

Additional context
I have the app mostly working with the Mac keys but entering a tweet with Gboard is insanely laggy.
