If you are on KDE, here is your answer: Also, you get one window because it's all office with different flavors of starting programs - can't avoid that one. |

It matters. Your problems are caused by wayland. So unless you're doing
heavy duty local gaming, Wayland is your problem.
If you switch to X11, the instability disappears under KDE.
I run KDE myself. Fedora 42.
They claim Wayland is primetime, but I have not seen it yet.

hello,
sorry, but:

sudo dnf install -y --allowerasing plasma-workspace-x11 switchdesk-gui
what does it solve? could you clarify a little bit? (also, i am using
wayland, nto x11 in case it matters, i say it as i can see x11 in the
command)

even with other apps it is the same, not only office, such as explorer for
example.

Running winboat under Fedora 43 and X11. I dread the day Fedora no longer
supports X11. Hopefully there will be an X11 replacement by 2027. I can't
believe KDE is doing this. After so many years. X11 really solves
real-world problems. Wayland just solves gaming problems and Linux gaming
is not taking off.

well, they claim rust in the kernel primetime as well..
never let the marketing department decide the timelines!

Hello,
i have been using winapps for office 365, i am happy as how it works even though there are some things that are missing or still bugs me. the thing is, that if i am correct all of them are limitations from freeRDP and not winapps itself. and as winboat is also based in freeRDP i am curious if this limitations exist on it or that have been solved externally. so for any experienced user of winboat, i have some questions (the current behavior is what i am experiencing in winapps and would like to improve):
if we open an app such as, powerpoint, the icon in the open applications is powerpoint, but when i leave it open and then open word, the two apps are put them together as two instances of the same app with the icon of the last one open (word). i am in kde, so it show a word icon with a + blue sign, as if there is more than one word open, but the other one is the ppt.
i am having a lot of problems with wyaland + double screen, sometimes it works, sometimes not sometimes when i try to expand the window it goes to the other screen etc. i have the /multimon and the +span flags on the RDP flags, still this is not working correctly.
quite frequently, when i open an windows app (that i dont have any windows app open) it shows the icon, and then disappear to never come back. i need to open a second windows app and then the two windows will show again (sometimes i need to go with even more than a second). sometimes i need to log to windows (there is a "windows" app to 'disconnect' the other user) and then log out of it, and re open the desired windows app, and repeat the hole process.
again, i am quite lost with winapps, and RDP so, it surely is more of a user issue than a problem of the software itself, not blaming that excelent project, just curious is this are things that are also pressent in general in winboat. to see if it worth the try to test it out....
