[Bug]: Regression in PDF Multi Tool with v2, preview/zoom in is not available anymore

The Problem

In Stirling v2, using the PDF Multi Tool, if you click on a page it will now select/deselect the page.
In v1, it was zooming on the page to preview its content.
In v2, this function doesn't seem implemented anymore ?

It was quite useful to reorder the pages or decide to remove some page content, now if the contents are quite similar, it's impossible to differentiate them from the miniatures that are shown.

Hi @typhoe! I'm Dosu and I’m helping the Stirling-PDF team.

The zoom/preview feature in the PDF Multi Tool was removed in v2.x due to a UI redesign: page clicks now only select/deselect pages, and the code no longer hooks into the preview/zoom logic that existed in v1.6.0. This change is not documented in the official docs or tracked in any existing issues or tickets.

There isn’t a workaround in v2.1.4 for previewing or zooming pages directly in the Multi Tool. However, a feature for visualizing or previewing PDF pages in the UI is planned for a future release, expected in 2-3 months from April 2025, according to a recent maintainer discussion (source).

If you need to distinguish similar pages, you’ll need to use an external PDF viewer for now. I’ll keep an eye out for updates or workarounds as the planned feature gets closer to release.
