MacOS permissions issue

Hi, I recently downloaded the most recent MacOS version of(2.1.6) and wasn't able to open the app. After poking around I found the executable Contents/MacOS/Digital-Logic-Sim didn't have executable permissions, and had to have them added through chmod. Is this a known issue or am I the only Mac user since the last update 😂? For reference, it had the permissions -rw-rw-r--, and I updated it to -rwx-r-x-r-x. Thanks!
