Is there a way to reliably generate short samples?

I've been having trouble generating samples with less than ~5 words, they often miss words or come out garbled or silent.

Have others experienced the same? Is there a solution/workaround for this?

I still haven't been able to figure anything out to not generate garbled files when the output is short, and I am not sure if its an issue specific to my reference data or what.

For missing words in short samples, I've found that appending some silence in the form of punctuation seems to help.
For example:
"One two three." would usually drop a random word or two.
"One two three. ......" pretty consistently catches the entire sentence.
It isn't perfect, but it helps. I have no idea why.
