Limiting certspotter bandwidth

I am usinghttps://github.com/devops-works/docker-certspotter.git. Some days after starting the container, it consumes all of my available network bandwidth (roundabout 100MBits/s - other traffic), causing any other activities to become sluggish. Is this to be expected? Is there a simple way to rate limit certspotter to say 10MBit/s?
