Description

Regarding the setting: "Location for new attachments".

I expect . to produce the same behavior as ${noteFolderPath} because ./test2 creates a folder that is relative to the parent folder of the note.

NOTE: . may be the only way to specify putting attachments in the vault root.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create "test/Untitled 4.md"
  2. Set "Location for new attachments" according to one of the options in Actual Behavior
  3. Drag image into file

Expected Behavior

The setting "Location for new attachments" produces equivalent outcomes when set to either ${noteFolderPath} or .

Actual Behavior

Location for new attachments string file path attachment path
${noteFolderPath} test/Untitled 4.md test/Untitled 4_file_2025102911_3335989.jpg
. test/Untitled 4.md vault root
./ test/Untitled 4.md vault root
./test2 test/Untitled 4.md test/test2/Untitled 4_file_2025102911_2807952.jpg
.test2 test/Untitled 4.md no link produced
