Gamemode not recognized

HI! I am currently using CachyOS (an ArchLinux derivative) and have gamemode installed through the system's repository. It is not being recognized by the RPCS3 AppImage.

I am currently using a AUR package that extracts the AppImage and integrate it to the system, but the same behavior happens when I use the normal AppImage.

It is not turned on in the build system. CMAKE needs the -DGAMEMODE_AVAILABLE=ON flag and/or gamemode-dev or (equiv) installed on the build system.

Hi!
I'm the person who implemented Gamemode. I did so with locally building rpcs3.
If you want to work around the issue you can locally build the emulator to get Gamemode to work.

Ill also look into adding it within the .ci scripts so the appimage can detect it.

@ADAS2024 it is working! But one thing that I noticed is that gamemoded is not killed after closing the game or the RPCS3 itself. It keeps running. I have encountered this same problem before when opening RPCS3 with gamemoderun.

For example, before this implementation, I used to use a .desktop file with this command on Exec:

fish -c 'env mangohud gamemoderun rpcs3; pkill -SIGTERM gamemoded'

Maybe you can create a logic within the code that kills gamemoded after the game closes or the RPCS3 closes.

and in the case where it didn't work with gamemoderun either, that might be just related to gamemode itself rather than anything within RPCS3
