Can't clear location field

I cannot clear the location search field. When I click the 'x', the website also clicks through the 'x' and creates a waypoint underneath the 'x'.

I have read the guidelines provided for creating new issues. I didn't understand all of it. Not sure if it's aimed at general users or just devs. Here is what I can provide:

• Steps to reproduce, click the 'x'. A new waypoint will be added
  
• OS: Linux Mint 21.3 Cinnamon
• I have tried this on Firefox and Brave
