set ferry speed via query parameter

Feature

Enable the query parameter to set the speed of the ferry or other vehicle. The current challenge I am encountering is that the ferry speed is so slow that it suggests an excessively long road route to reach the destination.

Let me know if there is something like already exists and how we can enable this. Thanks for building such an awesome project.

You can set the default ferry speed right in the profile, see

osrm-backend/profiles/car.lua

The speed allocation happens when extracting OSM data, so prior to all pre-calculations that are used to speed-up OSRM runtime computing. As a result, you can't set the speed per request dynamically, because changing the speed would require to re-run the data preparation pipeline.
