Temperature file for CMIP7 ancillary generation

Hello,
Since the Met Office climate model runs on geometric height levels, rather than pressure levels, I require a temperature file in order to accurately produce the 3D CMIP7 ozone ancillaries. Is it possible to provide a temperature file that is compatible (i.e. same models and years etc) with the already supplied ozone files, please? If it helps, for CMIP6 this file was zmta_input4MIPs_Temperature_CMIP_UReading-CCMI-1-0_gr_185001-201412.nc.

Thanks for reporting. We're doing some updates to nitrogen deposition and new ozone files so hopefully we can include this, but your patience as we work through the to-do list is appreciated!

Hi Steven, Sorry for the late reply. I think it should be possible to get some zmta files over the historical time period to you. However, I will need at least another week or so to get this done. The modellers I need to ask for this are currently on holiday.

Hi Michaela. That would be amazing thank you! As Jane says, once we have this file we can generate ozone ancillaries, which are the last to do. An extra week or so is no problem at all :)

Hi @hegglinm, many thanks for producing these files for us - can I please ask for an update on the status of these zmta files ? This is the only forcing dataset we are currently lacking and its preventing us from starting our spin-up. In particular for our high resolution runs which take a long time to run so this is becoming urgent. Great if you can update us on when these will be available and many thanks in advance.

Can the zmta files please be published? ACCESS-NRI also needs these to calculate ozone forcings on hybrid height levels. See ACCESS-NRI/CMIP7-Input#50

I recommend using the ESGF versions of files in preference to others. If data is not available through ESGF portals, we need to identify any missing data and resolve it promptly.

Several ESGF nodes are actively replicating new input4MIPs published data, so we should have identical archives developing across the US (ESGF ORNL), Germany (ESGF DKRZ), and the UK (ESGF CEDA).
