Description
Description of the issue
personal living space is a subclass of space requirement currently and has no equivalent class.
However in the definition of energy service demand it is mentioned that "another example is the demand for room heating or cooling". In Long Term Scenarios this is also measured in m² per capita /absolutely and is usually called energy service demand for heating or cooling.
Ideas of solution
My preferred solution would be to make a new term e.g "heated/cooled floor area" under "energy service demand"
and then add an equivalancy axiom.
Definition:
heated/cooled floor area is an energy service demand that represents the requirement for providing thermal conditioning (heating and/or cooling) to the floor area of buildings within a defined spatial boundary.
is equivalent to "personal living space" and has some energy demand.
An issue with this is that this does not capture commercial floor space per the definition of personal living space which is "A personal living space is a space requirement that one person uses for living."@en.
An option would be to make "personal living space" into something like floor area.
"A floor area is a space requirement inside a building."
Please share your thoughts on this if you have an alternative idea.
Workflow checklist
- I discussed the issue with someone else than me before working on a solution
- I already read the latest version of the workflow for this repository
- The goal of this ontology is clear to me
I am aware that
- every entry in the ontology should have a definition
- classes should arise from concepts rather than from words
