Additional context

The versions in the stable and unstable branches are both outdated, with the version in stable being even more outdated.

I would personally like to see an update to at least the latest version in the unstable branch, and preferably in the stable branch as well, since combining NixOS options from the stable branch with a package from the unstable branch doesn’t sound very reliable in the long run, despite the many useful features added since the last release in the stable branch.
