GatewayRequestError: Error: EACCES: permission denied, open '/sandbox/.openclaw/openclaw.json'

Installed NemoClaw on a Ubuntu VM

nemoclaw v0.0.6
openshell 0.0.22

When trying to do any changes in the UI I get error that the /sandbox/.openclaw/openclaw.json can not be updated.

The file is owned by root and can only be read.

sandbox@nemoclaw-sandbox:~$ ls -la .openclaw/openclaw.json
-r--r--r-- 1 root root 1867 Apr 5 17:00 .openclaw/openclaw.json

Am I missing a setup step?
