Steam doesn’t open

I am trying to open steam, it just gets stuck on operations. What to do?

Restart your Mac (disable open windows on startup), reapply the launch arguments, launch steam again and then wait for 1-2 min.

Especially on first boot, steam takes some time to open.

For reference: On my M4 Pro 24 GB it takes around 45-60 seconds.

If you only have an M1 or M2 and low RAM (so 8GB) opening steam can take much longer.

This will (probably) get improved with the official support of steam (--> #road-to-steam).

To install games with steam follow the guide in the pinned message in #mythic on dc (kernel level anticheat games are unsupported).

So I just had the same problem rn, quitting mythic (using cmd + q) and opening it again resolved it
