Empty folders in multipass mounted folders

Hi, I am using mc for nearly everything, but now I'm facing a strange problem I never saw:

I'm using multipass on mac for virtualisation of ubuntu. Installed a new ubuntu 24.04 vm and share a folder from host system to the vm. If I jump into this folder nad list files and folders using ls in command line, everything is fine, files and folders are shown.
But in mc my mounted folder is empty.
I can adit a file using mc -e filename in this folder but mc file panales do not show them.

I tried several versions, apt package and also compiling from source - nothing changed. SOmeone has an idea for me?

I'm afraid that the nature of this problem has to do with rewinddir support by multipass in the same way as it has been problematic in the past for some kernel filesystems and FUSE-based adapters (#4635).

I think that you can try removing the following block to see if this solves your problem:

mc/src/vfs/local/local.c

Lines 109 to 115 in e86774b

	if (readdir (dir) == NULL && errno == EINTR)
	{
	closedir (dir);
	dir = NULL;
	}
	else
	rewinddir (dir);

If yes, then I would suggest filing a report against multipass. If no, well, you have a starting point to investigate further...
