LazyVim out-of-the-box, all rendering OK *except* still displays hashmarks in headings

What should I do or look at to get the digital level indicators?

After more digging I found that LazyVim had replaced the default heading icons with {}. Putting the default digit-in-a-circle icons back in my own config fixed the "issue".

Sorta hijacking my own thread... I have the default icons in headings now, but they're so... tiny. I'm using Kitty, and as I read its docs the space character after each icon in the default string list should allow Kitty to expand the icon if it has a wide aspect ratio. I guess the default icons, being circular, don't. I looked at my font of choice, MesloLG NF in the macOS Font Book app, but there are zillions of unordered glyphs and no way I can see to find suitable ones.

Yes, thanks, I had read your doc and was reluctant to change my font. Earlier today, though, I found another set of icons that are rectangular and their digits are readable.
