Multiline System Prompts

I have a couple of questions regarding the "Add Instruction" button located within the Context panel:

1. Am I correct in assuming that this box is intended for inputting the system prompt? I am unable to find a place in settings for it.
2. If this is indeed the case, it is a single-line edit box. This makes it challenging to use a system prompt that would normally span multiple lines. Is there a recommended method or workaround for inputting multi-line prompts into this field?

No it's not for the system prompt, although you can use it that way if you like. It's just a convenient way to add a instruction text into the AI's memory. You can try it out, it'll just add the text into the main box.

The main system prompt is in "settings" page instead. That box is resizable

I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but I've looked through all of the settings tabs, including advanced, and I don't see a place for the system prompt. Could you let me know which section it's in?
I'm using the main web interface.

Edit: It appears if I switch the UI to instruct mode. Is there no way to do it in chat?

The way koboldcpp sends prompts to the model requires using instruct templates for the system prompt. If you don't want to use instruct you can add the instruction to the memory instead.

So in chat mode, Koboldcpp doesn't send a system prompt, and only relies on the chat pre-prompt in settings, dumping everything in the user role?
