Summary
Please add opt-in settings to:
- launch Codex Switcher automatically when the user signs in
- start minimized/hidden in the system tray
Motivation
Codex Switcher already provides tray controls, automatic warm-up, timed warm-up, usage refresh, and update checks. These background-oriented features only work while the application is running, but users currently need to remember to launch it manually after every reboot or sign-in.
This is especially noticeable on Windows, where a tray utility is generally expected to offer a "Start with Windows" option.
Suggested UX
Two independent settings would keep the behavior explicit:
- Launch at login
- Start minimized to tray
Both should default to off. If feasible, the launch-at-login registration should remain valid across application updates and be removed when the setting is disabled or the app is uninstalled.
A cross-platform implementation would be ideal, but Windows-first support would already address the immediate usability gap.
Thanks for considering it.
