Game doesn't work - Can't copy new profile: Subj: No such file or directory

Just picked this up on special on Steam. Tried running as administrator and got the same error. Prevents me from being able to play the Single Player campaign.

Ideas would be great. I'd like to keep the game, but this has be tempted to just refund and forget about this nostalgia trip.

Edit: Tried moving the installation files to C:\ and it worked. Maybe a straight forward fix to patch this - surprised how few people install games on secondary drives that this was never picked up.

Heyy thanks for the report, is pretty strange since i used to install on secondary drive when i tested on windows... maybe a regression. Will check and fix for the next update (keep in mind this is basically a community backed project)

tried on another Win10 and still can't reproduce, im starting to think it may be Win11 specific or some antivirus prehaps?

Can you try reproducing it again, and once it happens again use the .exe on the Release zip and send me the logs? I added some extra prints to see which folder is failing to create

Hi again, thanks for taking an interest in the issue. I tried reinstalling the game to another drive. The game picked up my existing profile. So I deleted it in game and tried again and it managed to create it without CTD. Do you know where cloud saves are stored locally so I can delete them, clear the cloud files, and try to start fully fresh again (doesn't seem to be the K D Labs folder). Regards, David

Cloud saves are stored in the game's folder Resource/Saves/Profile*, my advice is to backup the folder elsewhere, start the game, delete it and then restart the game to be fresh.

You can also disable Steam autolaunch by editing Perimeter.ini to not redownload the cloud saves, there is a option to simply not force steam if you launch the game manually. Or disable Steam integration alltogether.

Hi again, sorry for the long delay. I downloaded the zip, extracted the contents to the game folder and ran it again. Deleting the contents of the save folder and disabling cloud saves has replicated the issue successfully. Log file attached. Interestingly if I re-enable cloud saves, and Steam downloads them back into the folder, the game is now able to save and update to the folder files therein without error. I saved an instance on the next level and confirmed after re-opening the game it hadn't forgotten those saves and could remember the campaign progress and load the game successfully. Also attached that log file for you in case it shows anything useful. By the way, I do enjoy the Russian voice over as much as the English, but I do recall when I purchased it originally back in the day it was all in English. I suppose that might be a license thing with the open source version? Regards, David

Hello, you are not supposed to delete "Saves" folder itself, as it contains files required by game to create new profiles... only Profile0/1/2... and Multiplayer folders inside can be deleted...

As for the English language situation, we actually include both versions that can be selected as explained here: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/2530170/view/4145079037723495876?l=english this was done for players to be able to compare both versions or play the old one if they prefer so.
