Python2 to be EOL-ed

Hi,

Are there any plans to migrate to Python 3? Python 2 will be EOL-ed in the next months and there are plans to remove it from Debian, and since K-3D depends on it we received this bug report:

So it needs to either be adapted to use Python 3, or we need to disable support in Debian in the next months, or if not possible and in the worst case (let's hope not), remove it completely.

Please comment/advise.

Oh dear. I'll check what's involved to upgrade, I think this should be simpler than GTK3.

As boost in debian/ubuntu development versions no longer builds/uses python2, K3D now fails to build in the Ubuntu archive for the upcoming 20.04 LTS release in April.

As this build failure blocks some library transitions, this may require removing K3D from the Ubuntu archive until a compatible version of K3D exists. Hopefully that can be in time for K3D to be available in 20.04.

Sorry, I haven't gotten round to it yet. I have to admit K-3D is pretty low-priority for me at this time, but I am perfectly happy to review pull requests.
