Description

@reginankenchor

Description:
We aim to make InnerSource principles more accessible to a broader audience in Africa. Volunteers are needed to help translate InnerSource Patterns into various African languages.

What You’ll Do:

  • Select one or more InnerSource patterns from the official InnerSource Patterns Repository here.
  • Translate the selected pattern into an African language of your choice (e.g., Swahili, Zulu, Amharic, Yoruba, Hausa, etc.).
  • Place your translated files into the newly created translations/ folder, under a subfolder for the specific language (e.g., translations/swahili, translations/zulu, etc.) here
  • Ensure the translation is accurate, context-appropriate, and accessible to native speakers.
  • Submit a pull request with your translation.

Folder Structure Example:

  • translations/swahili/pattern-name.md

  • translations/zulu/pattern-name.md

Why It Matters:

By translating these patterns, we’re making InnerSource more inclusive and accessible to developers and organizations across the African continent, where language diversity is vast. Your contributions will help spread knowledge and foster collaboration in local communities.
