Is FEX better than translation layers such as D3DMetal, DXMT, or DXVK that are available for MacOS?

FEX-Emu doesn't have any relationship to whatever those layers are doing.
We don't support MacOS. We translate x86/x86-64 to AArch64, which makes the project similar to Rosetta and Prism, but for Linux.
I've never done "competitive analysis", so I don't even know how we would compare. So "better" doesn't really matter.

Those are totally different things.

FEX emulates x86 instructions on ARM64.

D3DMetal, DXVK and DXMT implement Microsoft Direct3D libraries on top of Vulkan or Metal.
