Bug pulling variables using grafana 8.*

If I update to newer grafana, and try to use a dashboard that is pulling variables from a q process then it throws an error trying to pull the variable.

If I go and re-add the data source just by save-test then go back to the dashboard it works again until I log back in.

actually its on lesser versions of grafana as well
