Blogging support for non-technical people

I create websites for clients, and I’m really impressed by Instatic. I understand that it’s still in pre-alpha and not ready for release yet, but I’m curious about the planned solution for non-technical users.

For example, many clients simply want to write a blog post, add a few images, and press “Post” themselves. They may also want to respond to comments, either manually through an interface or perhaps with AI assistance.

These users don’t understand CSS or HTML, and they shouldn’t have to interact with a page builder. Ideally, they would just have access to a simple, clean blogging interface.

Is something like this planned for Instatic? And what would it look like?

thanks for the comment! I wonder if the current content solution is not sufficient for non technical editor and bloggers? You can also use roles to restrict your users to only have the content tab available without have the page builder (site tab) available.

What is missing to help you with your workflow?

Thank you for the answer. That was the first question that came up. We develop websites based on WordPress, and I found Instatic, which I still have to run and test.

When talking about Instatic, that was the first question that came to mind. How is a non-technical person, say a website user and content writer, going to write on the platform? While diving deeper, I also found out it is based on Bun. And from an operational standpoint, that gives a whole set of other challenges. The hosting space is not equipped for containerized web delivery. They all provide WordPress sites. (webserver + db server + directadmin). So when Instatic reaches the production stage, the hosting environment needs to shift as well.

But this is a whole other discussion.

There are currently plenty of host options that support docker image deployments. We provided one click template to Railway, which takes 1 minute to deploy, costs usually less than $2 per site per month and covers everything you need except of domain.

We will also soon introduce our own hosting which will streamline everything into all in one platform and makes it trivial to run and manage.
