I am using Hydrosys4 since years. It is well made and works flawlessly. During the years I have developed some ideas for improvements.
-
The main Menu: I think it would be better, when WateringPlan would be called timer control. Because I and many others use this window to control all kind of timer controlled actuators.
-
In all the control windows, it needs a section to select a condition. Right now I can only set a time when to switch on and off something . But I cannot define a condition. I give you an example:Lets say I have three actuators and three sensors.
a. Rain sensor (1/0)
b. Window open/close sensor (analog 4-20mA)
c. room temperature sensor (degree Cel)
w. Window closer (1/0)
x. Window opener (1/0)
y. air condition ON/Off (1/0)
z. Heater (1/0)
Present Situation in WateringPlan: Month, Schema, Multiplier, delay , a set condition field is missing
There should be also a set condition field like this:
- If (select sensor or actuator) (calculator) (value 1) and (Value2) and [ to add a second condition]
that would be translated to my setup above for example: If it rains do not open window.
Month. Jan, Schema:Window, Multiplier 3drops, delay 100, Condition: If (a. Rainsensor) (=) (Low)
or lets say the window should only be opened at this time if temperature is between 25 and 30 degree and it is not raining and the window is not already wide open. Than the condition to be set would look like this:
If (a. Rain sensor ) (<) (High) and
If (Temperature sensor) (between) (25) and (30) and
if (window sensor) (<) (20mA)
-
The Interrupt Menu is not understandable. Nobody will use it because its to hard to understand.
-
The Data Window is not flexible enough. We need the ability to create more graphs sorted by themes. Like grow houses, or uses or objects. Like a graph for all sensors and actuations regarding the waterpump. Or sensors and actuations regarding the seedbox Nr. 5, or all sensors and actuations regarding peripheral devices like temp. rpi, temperature ssr's cooling , etc.
Anyway, thank you so much for taking on the project and trying to give it more life. Its really worth it. Because the entire Idea is a fantastic idea.
