This release will be the one described in the next edition of Volume G.

• Next version placeholder created in dictionary_audit section in master branch

• ccp4 mailing list advised
• All comments/issues arising during review period addressed (add to list below)
• Final DOI and URL edited into file (IUCr Chester office to advise of DOI)
• Github release tagged

Outstanding pull requests/ issues that should be resolved before releasing should be linked as sub issues. Please check any issues you have raised and see if they could be resolved easily or have already been resolved. I will appoint myself release manager again.

Some comments on the issues that I linked. Feel free to unlink them is deemed irrelevant:

• cif_core.dic: conflicting _valence_param category definitions #62. Some items were redefined in a quite significant way as compared to DDL1. We should revert the change and introduce a new category that has the desired new behaviour, if relevant.
• cif_core.dic: some definitions contain potentially outdated references #237. Some of the references have already been updated, others will be updated during the editorial process. However, I am unsure whether this specific editorial task will begin before or after the dictionary release.
• Choose a shared _dictionary.namespace for all IUCr dictionaries #292. I assume the release will also include the DDLm reference dictionary so it would be nice to resolve this minor remaining issue (decided on the name space for the DDLm reference dictionary).
• Rename the default branch from 'master' to 'main' #332. This might not be too much of a blocker since the released dictionaries will have an embedded the IUCr website URL instead of the GitHub one. However, might be best to do the renaming before the release as all of the important PRs will preferably be merged.
• cif_core.dic: rename _geom.contact_distance_min and _geom.bond_distance_min data item #543. The newly added names conflict with a different dictionary so we should definitely remove them before the release. There already is a PR for this, fell free to suggest different replacement names.
• Different ordering of words in flux density units Enumeration_Templates#2. Again, PR more for the DDLm reference dictionary. Since there is already a PR for this, it could be quickly merged.

Final question from me: should the DDLm reference dictionary and the CIF_CORE dictionary still be released under the same tag/version number or should they be split (potentially even moved to different repositories)? The main complication that I see with this is the existence of shared enum and attribute files.
