Thank you for your interest in contributing to BoringOS.
By submitting a contribution (pull request, patch, or any other form) to any repository owned by the BoringOS-dev GitHub organization, you agree to the following terms:
- "You" means the individual or legal entity submitting a Contribution.
- "Contribution" means any original work of authorship, including modifications or additions to existing work, that you submit to a BoringOS project.
- "Project" means any repository under the BoringOS-dev GitHub organization.
You hereby grant to BoringOS-dev and its maintainers a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable copyright license to reproduce, prepare derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, sublicense, and distribute your Contributions and any derivative works thereof.
You hereby grant to BoringOS-dev and its maintainers a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable patent license to make, have made, use, offer to sell, sell, import, and otherwise transfer your Contributions, where such license applies only to patent claims licensable by you that are necessarily infringed by your Contribution alone or by combination with the Project.
You agree that BoringOS-dev may relicense the Project (including your Contributions) under any open source or commercial license at its sole discretion, without further notice to or consent from you.
You represent that:
- (a) You are legally entitled to grant the above licenses.
- (b) Each Contribution is your original creation, or you have sufficient rights to submit it under these terms.
- (c) If your employer has rights to intellectual property you create, you have received permission to make Contributions on behalf of that employer, or your employer has waived such rights.
- (d) You are not aware of any third-party claims, liens, or encumbrances on the Contributions.
You understand that the decision to include your Contribution in any Project is entirely at the discretion of the Project maintainers, and this agreement does not obligate anyone to use your Contribution.
You are not expected to provide support for your Contributions, except to the extent you desire to provide support. You may provide support for free, for a fee, or not at all.
By submitting a pull request or other Contribution, you signify your acceptance of this Contributor License Agreement. CLA acceptance is tracked automatically via the CLA Assistant bot on pull requests.
This CLA is effective as of April 2026 and applies to all contributions made on or after this date.
