Hi, what's the plan here? Would these issues be automatically fetched and posted? Or would there be some level of curation involved?

I've been manually searching for good first issues to fix together with friends that want to learn how to contribute to FOSS, and believe there are very different levels of complexity for issues tagged as easy or good first issue. There's also varying levels of support from maintainers to help those attempting to fix them.

I might be able to triage and comment on posted issues to help people picking up those that fit their skills and goals, and actually doing that may be a learning opportunity for me and others.

@devdanzin the idea was that amongst our repos (in blackpythondevs org) if an issue was labelled with good first issue then it would be published to our #contributors-wanted group.

This would be done the same way that our github issues and PRs are passed into the github channel

Is there a way github is able to notify via apis when a label is added to an issue?

@JohananOppongAmoateng - I don't know if it's possible specifically for issues, but you can use webhooks to post GitHub issues to Discord.

Another option would be to create a script that queries for good first issues in our org and returns the list formatted in the discord.

I think the reason this has been open for so long is that there needs to be some conversation in how this is implemented.
