Textinput.Typeahead cannot be cleared automatically

This remains a problem apparently. No equivalent to

shiny::updateTextInput(session, id, value="")

Thus, it is also impossible to set the value programmatically, as with

shiny::updateTextInput(session, id, value=new_value)

Any fixes or workarounds appreciated!
